Happy Mother's Day to My Friends
My Mom, The Rev. Mary Schlievert (1939-2004)
Mom... Everyday that goes by I miss you. I miss your singing, your laughter, your lame jokes. I miss your spiritual guidance, your gentle way of explaining the world to me, your important discipline, your prayers and your love. I live in a world that needs more people like you, not less. Your impact on my life has left a legacy of Jesus. For these things I am eternally grateful that imperfect you were my mother.
My Mentor, The Rev. Dr. Kathy Kanters
Next to my mom stands you. I've known you virtually all my life and have looked up to you more and more after mom's passing. You have remain steadfast in your life. You have shown me through your life and testimony how faith and grace truly are vital to the walk of life. Your firm discipline kept my heart right. You being there and caring for me when I hit rock bottom made me feel liked I belonged. You are the only person who could step into my moms shoes for me. I thank you for your love and compassion and speaking wisdom into my life and my daughters. You are a blessing!
My Step Mother, Janet Schlievert
While we don't always see eye to eye and have stepped on each others toes often, we also had hours upon hours of honest heart to hearts- something I've only ever done with my mom and Kathy. You may not realize this, but you Janet, have shown me how to be vulnerable but at the same time strong, you showed me how to survive in the midst of turmoil and how to show grace to people who do not deserve it. I've watched for years how you tended your gardens and it made me think that even when you were pulling weeds you took great care not to damage the flowers, like how you weed your life, taking care not to crush those those delicate roots of the ones you love. You are a pillar of strength in the family even if you don't know it.

One of the many constants in my life. From as far back as I can remember you were there. You were like the right hand of mother! Your word was law and you took us kids into your heart. I appreciate how you were there for us during some of the darkest periods of mother's life. You are an amazing friend and mentor!

I find it funny that I can call you friend. You were my mom's closest confidant for many years and now I have the honour of calling you friend. I thank you for always being there for mom. I thank you for caring about me after mom's passing. When others lost touch, you remain. You have been an inspiration and heart of Joy in my life and I am grateful for your continued presence.

My Sister in Law... The past 11 years would have been impossible without you two. I love you both from the bottom of my heart and thank God that He provided my brothers with believing woman who would raise them up and give me one less thing to worry about! You two are joys and pillars of this family!

How long have we known each other? Forever it seems! You are and will always be more then a best friend, you are my sister and confidant and I love you beyond words! Time and distance has gotten in our way on a number of occasions but you are always in my heart. Your words inspire me and your wisdom helps me through my difficult days. You are one in a million.

While you two are still young and have not had your own children, you are still valuable to me in my life. You two have grown into amazing women despite the hardships you had to face. I love you both with all my heart!
Happy Mother's Day to all the WOMAN who have played the role of mother in someones life!
The Lord will bless you and watch over you.
The Lord will smile on you and be kind to you.
The Lord will look on you with favour and give you peace.
